Experts Share Energy-Saving Ideas with Chinese SMEs

On May 27, 2010, the Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) and the Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) Academy co-hosted a seminar on improving energy efficiency in Guangdong Province, China. More than 120 representatives from Chinese small and medium manufacturing enterprises (SMEs) attended. Officials from HKPC and the Guangdong Economic and Information Technology Commission provided a primer on energy efficiency policies and incentive structures that SMEs can access to initiate energy saving activities. Experts from companies like Mattel, Coca-Cola and GTZ shared case studies and practical guidance on how to manage energy more effectively. This seminar is the first in a planned series of four to be offered in partnership with the HKPC over the coming year.
